Network

eLearning:

This document is intended for IT or network personnel to identify the network requirements to ensure DMAC services operate properly. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the DMAC Help Desk at 866-988-6777.  DMAC Solutions uses the following network protocols, addresses and ports.

Therefore, depending on local network policies, you, as the DMAC client, may need to explicitly configure (whitelist) the following services.

Web Services (HTTP/HTTPS)

DMAC uses the standard HTTP and HTTPS protocols to deliver web pages and web-based services to DMAC clients.

  • TCP Ports: 80, 443

  • Domain Name: dmac-solutions.net

  • IP Address Space: 72.53.189.0/24 – (updated on 12/27/19)

Email Services (SMTP)

DMAC uses the standard SMTP protocol to send automated emails to DMAC clients for password recovery, status updates, service notifications, etc.

IMPORTANT: Please do not whitelist specific email addresses as DMAC may send emails from multiple user names depending on the application or service (e.g. support@dmac-solutions.net, account@dmac-solutions.net, etc.).

File Transfer Services (FTP)

DMAC uses ONLY secure FTP protocols to send and receive data files required for DMAC services (e.g. class roster data, state assessment data, etc.).

A FTP account is available to every DMAC client and FTP credentials are made available to the local DMAC administrator.

Secure Protocols

Required Ports

FTPS (explicit)

FTPS (implicit)

Scripting FTP Transfers

  • When scripting FTP transfers, exclude the user’s Home directory in the file path.

  • For example, use “/NewFile.txt” instead of “/999940/NewFile.txt”

Additional Information:

  1. Internet browsers cannot be used as an FTP client.

  2. DMAC does not endorse or support any specific 3rd-party FTP client.

  3. A secure, HTTPS file transfer option is available through the DMAC Utilities application.
